How We Began
In 2022, Pasakorn Niratbhand—who had spent years working with plant-based technologies in the U.S.—returned to Chiang Mai with a single-minded goal: reduce Thailand’s environmental footprint. While exploring new ideas, he discovered Prof. Akkasit Jongjareonrak’s pioneering work on hydrolyzed rice bran protein at Chiang Mai University. Intrigued, Pasakorn reached out. Their partnership merged entrepreneurial spirit with scientific rigor, sowing the seed for Plant Origin.
Together, they gathered a team of food scientists, engineers, and agricultural experts. Their mission: upcycle discarded rice bran into exx—a premium, allergen-free egg replacer that delivers on performance without compromise.
